HOW TO MAKE VANILLA MAGIC CUSTARD CAKE
If you are a custard enthusiast, you will really like this Vanilla Magic Custard Cake recipe. I'm going to go ahead and say it: this Magic Custard Cake actually does have magical qualities. When cooking this, I nearly threw in the towel and dumped the whole thing in the trash many times. As I stared at the questionable cake mixture in front of me after seeing the stunning photographs of this three-layered gooey custard cake online, I had little faith that it would turn out.
I had my doubts about the ingredients, but I decided to put them through the rest of the baking process nonetheless since I had already gotten this far. Thankfully, my few covert looks in the oven provided me some certainty that the cake may turn out. After 35 minutes, the top had formed a wonderful golden crust, and when tested with a skewer, it was still a bit wobbly in the center — the ideal consistency.
INGREDIENTS YOU’LL NEED:
4 large eggs; at room temp.
¾ Cup.Of caster sugar.
½ Cup.Of melted butter.
1 Tsp.Of vanilla extract.
¾ Cup.Of sifted plain flour.
2 Cups.Of lukewarm milk.
¼ Cup.Of icing sugar to decorate.
PREPARATION:
1st Step
Prepare an oven to 170 degrees and prepare a square cake pan measuring 20 centimeters with baking paper, ensuring that it is sufficient paper hanging over the edges of the tin.
2nd Step
After separating the eggs, put the egg whites in a basin that is CLEAN and DRY (this step is extremely crucial), and then use an electric mixer to beat the egg whites until firm peaks form. Put the egg whites in a separate bowl until they are required.
3rd Step
Put the egg yolks and caster sugar in a large bowl and use an electric mixer to beat them until they are blended, then beat them some more until they become light and frothy.
4th Step
While the electric mixer is still operating at a low speed, add the melted butter and vanilla extract in a slow and steady stream. Next, add the sifted flour in little amounts using a spoon.
5th Step
Continue beating on a low-to-medium speed while adding the lukewarm milk in a gradual stream in order to mix all of the ingredients.
6th Step
Add the egg whites to the bowl, then gently combine everything by folding it together.
7th Step
Spread the batter into the prepared cake pan, then set it in the oven at the specified temperature for 35 minutes, or until a golden crust has formed on top of the cake, whichever comes first.
